when time stands still.

this has been my new "mantra" as I go about documenting my week for Project Life.

I am on the lookout for the ordinary moments of life.

I feel that our lives are bookended by the big moments-- birthdays, holidays, vacations, parties, events at schools.   Those moments are precious to me.

But in the middle of those big-moment bookends you find the delicious, beautiful, expected, plain, extra-ordinary ORDINARY moments of life.  these are the moments that make my heart skip a beat.

The dinner table prayers.

The January sunsets that take your breath away.

The weekend your husband makes a chicken coop in the garage.

The impromptu game of Connect Four.

The 3pm home-made latte

The morning your daughter rounds the corner, breathing heavy, announcing she's Darth Vader (and you nearly spit the coffee out of your mouth).

The long awaited reward for hard work at school.

The quiet moments spent with God

and even the time your hometown football team is featured on Parks & Recreation ...

these are the moments that stand still in my mind.  the moments that truly describe our lives at any moment.    Sure they might be grainy,  Sure they might be ordinary.  But to me, this is when life stands still.  This is what I want to remember forever.

As I think about Project Life and how I want to document our lives, this is my goal.

Find that moment when time stands still, and go with it.
